Why Can't I Get Colour?

Hi folks,

I've grabbed a free graphic online I want to use on my site, I've made it RGB under 'image -> mode' but when I go 'image -> adjustments -> hugh/saturation' OR '... color ballance' neither has any effect? What am I missing?

My image is at present light grey and I want to give it a blue shade whilst retaining all the darker and lighter gradient effects of the original image if you catch my drift, but nothing works, it just stays grey and it's really bugging me now.

Thanks in advance. Especially as I'm sure it's something obvious. Let me know if you need more info!

Cheers.

Changing The Colour Of A Train

Hi All

I am reasonably new to photoshop but am wanting to get a lot better! I am quite interested in being able to change the colours/livery of objects in photos most notably trains due to this being one of my main interests.

I have an image of a train and I want to edit the livery but keep an element of realism.so It doesn't just look drawn like a cartoon. I have made an attempt at this but I am not massively happy with the results. I have uploaded both a copy of the original image and a copy of my amended image. My main problem is the lack of realism, because I am trying to go from a very light colour to quite a dark blue I seem to lose a lot of the detail from the original image.

I have also uploaded an image of the sort of thing I would like to achieve. The person who has done this makes a really good job of them and I would love to be able to achieve similar results.

The way I have created my image is simply but creating adjustment layers for hue and saturation and levels and played with the settings until I get something like.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can make a better attempt at changing to colour so it retains an element of realism?

Colour Alterations Thru Deleting Channels

Hi,
I am very fond of Colour alterations on a photo through manipulating RGB or CMYK channels. I recently stumbled upon a method that gave a rather very interesting colour effect I think. I deleted the blue channel out of my RGB image, that left me with cyan and magenta channels. However the problem is that I cannot save that image with the usual formats such as PNG and JPEG. I can only save it as PSD and a bunch of other technical formats. I suppose it is because a channel is missing. I have tried to fill the blue channel with black but that did not give the same effect. Is there a way to save the image with that colour effect, or somehow achieving the exact same result through a method without deleting a channel?
I'd really appreciate your help. Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Workflow Help For This Effect

Hello,

Can someone that knows what they're doing provide me with a tutorial on how to achieve this visual effect?

......Admin edit .... please upload full image rather than off-site redirect.

I am talking about the green image on this flyer with the man who is standing with his back to us, and the faint green text that is superimposed around him.

My photoshop skills are moderate, so I can make all the layers of text and the man. My question is, how do I achieve the green fill that is used in the image.

How do I make the image "green" like that?

Is it a combination of making it grayscale and then replacing grey with green? Or should I use a mask and a translucent fill?

Big thanks in advance!

Adding Colour To Greyscale Images

Hi,
I have a colour image of a scene and several greyscale images of similar scenes.
I would like to use the colour information from the colour scene and add it to the greyscale images, thereby making them colour also.
I am sure there is more than one way to do this, but the way I imagined it would work was to some how sample all the colours and then map them individually to the 256 (or more ?) grey levels.
The colous wouldn't change because I would choose a 'standard' image but the greyscale images would all be different.
I have tried searching the net for info but I don't think I am entering the correct terms, so any guidance would be appreciated.

thanks.

Request: Collaboration For Testing A New Effect For Substituting Color In Images

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I'm a freelance researcher in image editing.
I'm italian, so sorry in advance for my english .
I'm also a little crazy , I left my job as employee 'cause I believe in my researches and I want to make them my only job.
I developed a new effect for substituting colors in images. I would like to test the goodness of this new approach useful for retouching photos ... so I ask you a little collaboration, if you want to help me, you should retouch the image that I attached in this way: change the color of the pen fromred to white.
It's important to me to know how much time you spent in retouching the image and what applications you used for achieving the result, so please post the altered image together with the requested info. In a few days I'll post the image elaborated with my algorithm.
Really thanks to all, in advance, for the collaboration.

Correcting Colour On Bridesmaid Dress Photo

Well her is my big challenge of the week.... Can anyone advise me how I can make the skirt part of this dress ivory colour like the bodice, rather than appearing a grey gradient all the way down the skirt now. It looked good as the original photo but now that I have cut it out and put it on a white background it looks so weird!! Also the see through tulle fabric at that shows really dark grey at the bottom of the dress should be a lighter ivory colour if there is any ideas how to do that too!

Bathroom Photoshop Colour Correction Help And Suggestions

Hello.
I've recently photographed a few local bathrooms using my 18-55mm lens on a Sony A58 body. Since Apple's new OS Yosemite doesn't support Sony's RAW files I was forced to shoot in JPEG resulting in a tremendous undertaking of excruciating colour correcting in Adobe's Photoshop Elements 10. After a long period of getting the image to the colour and style I wanted, I was faced with a more challenging problem. I am now currently trying to match the colour style of my first image with another photograph of the same bathroom. Since I kept it on the same Custom White Balance it should of been easy but the second image had the door of the bathroom open while the first image had the door closed resulting in a mixture of different colour temperatures. Is there anyway of matching the style in Photoshop Elements for these two photos?

Help - Edit Of Photo - Happy To Pay (via Paypal) A Sensible Amount

Hi,

Were looking for someone who has the skills to edit the image below:

Image shows a garden area with dark grey granite flagstones which are all the same size and run diagonally.

The granite is going to be changed to Indian sandstone and below are some typical images of Indian sandstone.
(If you Google image "Indian sandtone" you can see many more)

Note the Indian sandstone in made of different size pieces.

The brief is to replace the dark grey granite with the Indian sandstone with correct perspective and proportions etc so we have a genuine realistic image.

We are happy to pay a sensible amount (ideally by PayPal)

Many thanks.

Can I Easily Convert Grey Channels To Colour Layer (these Were For Screen Printing)

Hi Guys,
Im new to the forum and have a tricky question.
Ive been given a large amount of designs that have been colour separated for use by screen printers.
I will go through the image details below but history of the images is sketchy to say the elast.

The layer shows a black and white image and has been saved in grayscale mode.
There are numerous colour channels which are unselected. When you select them all the colour fills in gradually until its looks great. But this doesnt actually change anything eg Layer, so that is always black and white.
How can I get the printed output to look like the image when all colour layers are selected.
Im not screen printing, I am digitally printing so dont need sep colours.
I have attached an example design so you can understand better what I mean.
Any help will be massively appreciated guys.
If I can find an easy way to do this I will hopefully get a script designed that will convert 100s in bulk. Fingers crossed as right now Im lost.
Thanks guys
Neil

Making A Sample Picture Of A Printed Card For Online Display

Okay, so here's the deal. I have a vintage valentine card that I want to sell as a printable. Currently though I am unable to print this out myself. The problem with this is that I can't take product sample pictures of this image in various uses. Right now I would like to create a "photo" of this vintage card as it would look if someone printed it out on card stock paper, then cut it out along the image outline. This would give a fold-able "greeting card" style, but the card would not be your typical square or rectangle, as the person would cut out the card along the image edge.

Here is the vintage valentine. It is in PNG format to preserve the transparent background.

Here is a similar example of the effect I want to create:

But I want to make the above effect, as if the valentine was cut out along the image edges, and not simply printed on a rectangular card. How would I create a product sample use "photo" with the vintage image in a cut out, standing up, card image?

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,
Chyina
