Hello,

When I copy from Illustrator and I paste in Photoshop I get a different color.

Is there a way to have it pasted with the same color it has in Illustrator?

Thanks

Everything In Photoshop Cs6 Gets Pixelated

I have a problem with photoshop. Everything I do gets pixelated.

When I paste or place an object from Illustrator CS6 I choose place as smart object and as soon as I pace it it gets pixelated. I have tried with and without the anti-aliased box checked. When the box is checked photoshop pixelates the image and when the box is not checked the image looks really strange and digital with the pixels showing. All curves that were smooth and nice in Illustrator looks jagged and strange.

When I try and draw a shape in photoshop it looks in the layer-list like it's a shape layer but the object is heavily pixeled.

I have tried opening a file created in Autocad (by using dwg to PDF) and opening it as a smart object in Photoshop. Everything is pixelated.

When starting a new file in PS I have a 300 pix per inch resolution, 16 bits RGB color, sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as my color profile and square pixels as my pixel aspect ratio.
Under general preferences I have the box for "Place or drag raster images as smart objects" (I have also tried without it). I have also tried with the box for "snap vector tools and transform to pixel grid" on and off.

Regardless of what i do photoshop still pixelates everything. I have no idea what to do. Could there be some sort of setting that I have overlooked?

Is There A Way To Copy Layers From One Photoshop Document To Another?

Is there a way to copy layers from one Photoshop document to another? I was working on a project earlier on that required this but I didn't know how this could have been done. (Procedure not as simple as Illustrator, where a simple Ctrl | Cmd + C and Ctrl | Cmd + V would work.)

Help With Vinyl Plastic Look Created In Photoshop!

I can get halfway there, but there are steps that I am missing.

Here is what I am trying to achieve. Our old tech guys used to make our product images:

Here is what I have been able to come up with. The wireframe is created in Illustrator and then brought into photoshop, then added the Plastic Wrap filter. It still looks like crap comparatively though:

Any thoughts on what I could do? I guess maybe dodging and burning or something along those lines MIGHT work, but I was for sure it was a pretty automatic process they had down before.

Upgrade My Macbook To Use Photoshop ?

Hi!! I'm new to the forum

I have a Macbook Pro late 2009 with 4GB Ram , 250GB Hard Drive , Dual-Core Processor.

I want to use Photoshop CC, Lightroom, Illustrator, etc.

Will upgrading to 8GB Ram and a 512GB SSD will make this programs to run fast without any problems ?

or Do I have to upgrade to a new Mac with Quad-Core Processor and 16GB Ram?

Thanks very much!!

Turning A Dataset Into A Color Library

We have a project where the final media will have a color palette limited to 454 colors. We have a conversion from the media's color selection to RGB. So, from an XML file I created a CSV file, meaning I have both if necessary, of 454 colors with a name and their RGB values.

I need to create a color library so that I can put an image in photoshop and then change it to indexed color so that it ONLY uses these 454 colors.

Is there a way to convert or compile my csv/xml file to a photoshop ACT file? I feel like there must be. I do *not* want to enter 454 colors by hand.

Thanks so much for any advice. Attached is a screenshot for reference.

Create A Bevelled Effect Frame Rectangle Button Shape In Photoshop

I am a designer who primarily uses InDesign and Illustrator and have a client that wants to recreate this gold and black gradient beveled embossed looking rectangle... however they want it in Photoshop. I for the life of me, can't remember how to do this with the gradients and changing colors. Is there someone out there that wouldn't mind giving me a step by step process on how to create that background box? I've attached the image. I know how to add the text, and all of the rest of the info, just needed help creating that outer border.

Thank you!

Cleaning Up Old Blueprint Scans

Hi everyone,

I have a question about cleaning up a scan of an old blueprint. These prints are almost 100 years old and I am working on some artwork for a renovation project. The scans can be found here and here (sorry for the links - the files were too big). I would like to clean one of these up enough in Photoshop to save it, place it in Illustrator, and effectively use LiveTrace. I have not been able to clean the scan up enough to do this, though. Can anyone walk me through this?

Thanks,

~wb
