Select Half Of An Image As Part Of An Action?

Can I select and copy exactly half of an image (50% vertical selection) as part of an action? Each time I run my action it sets the selection to half of the size of the original image I made the action on, which doesn't work for me as all images are shot in different proportions.

Thanks!

I need to batch convert high resolution product images through layer/vector mask +/or channels without using the selection tools.

Have tried to create white background layer and place original image made transparent behind ,but did not work for me.

If you can show the way for this or create and upload link to it,that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Action Terminology -- I Need Help.

I saw this photoshop action the other day I was impressed with. I'm on the hunt for a similar Action but I'm completely lost on what search terms to use in my hunt.

I have 4 images that give you an idea what the action does. I will also use the images to help explain my confusion.

IMAGE 1 -- nothing special here -- just showing you the image loaded into PS.

IMAGE 2 -- Image 2 shows you the first step of the action. It basically gives you an outline of the image and changes the background. I would love to have the background color to be all white but all in all this is ok.

IMAGE 3 - In this image I'm showing that you can use any brush to paint in what you want to show on the image. This is where I get lost in my search. I have been looking for an action that can convert the background like you see in image 2 above and than give you the ability to paint what you want to show in the image. I have used terms like "sketch painting" "pencil painting" "painting image" "brush painting" "mask painting" but I can not find any actions that does what you see in these images.

IMAGE 4 - When you are done brushing , you can continue the action and it will change what you brushed in to look like a painting.

Ok..............I'm looking for actions that basically does the above. The two key elements of the action is how it handles the background and also gives me the ability to use a brush tool to paint what I want seen in the final results. Most actions I seen will just convert the whole image to look like a painting.........I want more control of what is seen in the final results by using a brush to paint what I want seen in the final results. What it converts to in the end isn't important but I would love to find something where I could convert the image so it looks like a painting, a pencil sketch, comic sketch, etc.

You can help me with what to search for or even better yet, if you know where I can find such actions, please point the way.

I spent 2 days on GraphicRiveer with very little luck or what I find did not provide me enough info for me to be certain I was getting what I wanted. Other than GraphicRiver, I have been googling but no luck.

Thanks

Use Of "embedded" Actions

Hello
I would like to use "embedded" actions in Photoshop

For instance, I define some "basic" actions

- Action 1
- Action 2
- Action 3

And in a more complex action I would like to have

- New action
...........
Run Action 1
.............
Run Action 3
................

I've seen this possibility used in an action I downloaded, but don't see how I can do it with my own actions

Thanks for your help
Have a good day

What Am I Doing Wrong -batch Process.

I have about 700 RAW images I want to batch process through PS.
All I want to do is reduce their size from 5184 X 3456 to 900 X 600 @ a resolution of 150 and save as JPG files.

Since RAW files run through ACR first and there's no way to reduce images size I just run it and end up with full size jpg's.
I run the JPG's again through Bridge and select Tools|Photoshop|Image Processor and selected "Open first image to apply settings" but when I run this there is no pause to reduce the file size.
It just runs through all the images allowing me no option to "Apply Settings".

I realize I can record an action to do this and use Photoshop|Batch but I'd like to know why this isn't working.
Thanks guys.

Adding Bleed Space - Need Faster Way.

Hi I have a question which I'm fighting with for several years. Daily I work as car wrap designer so a lot of my projects are cut by cutting plotters.
Every work I create has to be made of tiff file with bleed and a vector .eps file containing cut line.

the problem is sometimes client wants shapes so abstract that ContentAwareFill just cant do the trick.
same with active selection and Cmd+Alt+ arrow keys while selection is still active because sometimes art ic made of several floating objects.

(I hope I'm describing it enough, sorry for my bad english )

here are the images to show you what I mean:

01. main image

02. cut line

03. final work

As you can look closer bleed spreads in every direction uniformly:

I know I can use smudge, yes in example like above. but If I have tree with many many leaves floating.. I should manually smudge bleed of every leaf.

Question is:
Do you have "automated" solution? plugin? action? script? or just different idea than CAFill, smudge tool, or pixel shifting?

Thank you

Searching For A Lost Action/filter

I used to have an Action/Filter (can't remember which it was) that would turn a photo into what resembled the Matrix style effect. I was playing around as usual, and wanted to try it out on an image.

I haven't used it in a long while, but now I don't have any filters or actions that do it. I appear to have lost it, plus I can't seem to find it again on the web.

I don't suppose anyone here has something that resembles this.

A Way To Repeat A Tool On Several Selected Areas At Once?

Probably a bad subject title so let me explain what I am trying to do.

I have a very basic image (screenshot 1). Trust me, this is not an exercise but similar to the image I will be using,ha!

I select each white circle and using smart erase I can erase each circle (screenshot 2) but I want a feathered/gradient effect like (screenshot 3).

Then when I add a background color it gives the effect I am after (screenshot 4).

So here is the issue - Each image will have 100's of white dots and they will be random on each image (sort of like a star field would be a good comparison). So I need to find a way to perform the same procedure all at once on all the dots (preferred way I would think), sort of like using smart erasure but with a feather effect, or need to create an "action" that will do that.

So I guess my questions a

1. Can one create a gradient that goes from "eraser-to-black", and then save it as a mask? (to use for question 2)

2. or perform the same task on each selected spot at the same time using a mask or

3. If I need to create an "action" for this how would one move from one spot to the next to perform the task on each spot?

Since I am new here I am beginning to search through the massive forums here but thought I would throw this out will I keep searching. Thanks so much.

Batch Watermarking Images With Different Ppi

Trying to figure out how I can batch watermark images with different PPI.
My current method:
Open Actions:
Create action-Watermark
Record
I open the image I want to watermark, all horizontal/vertical images I place my watermark symbol (.png file) - File - Place Resize the watermark, then vertically and horizontally align. Save End Record

Outcome: I get many images with different sizes of the watermark, this is because the PPI is different I figured out. Now all I'd like to know is how can I get the same size watermark on all images without changing the PPI?
