How would I make a transparent layer such as the one in the image where it says "Mufasa"
It's transparent, meaning you can still see the background, but it's tinted black. How do I do this in my own image? Thanks!
The attached picture is the black silhouette of a bass with transparent background (on its layer) but when I isolated it and did a background eraser a remnant of gray outline remains in many areas of the picture (this can be seen by turning on the black layer also in the file). I have tried to do additional color eraser to no avail. Can someone help me get this gray gone and leave only the black on the layer. I would like to know what tools and techniques you use as well. Your help is appreciated.
Heck I cant get the .psd to attach so I added i made examples below the first with the outline and transparent background looks good but when you put it on a black background (image2) you see the outlines in gray that I want to get rid of or turn black. Either way the goal would be when I turn on the black background the fish should disappear.
Thanks,
Dino
Hello,
I'm new to PS and new to this forum, so be kind! I need to edit the font used in my product category images and to do it I have tried filling the text in with the matching colour, and then retype the text. However the images have been created (as you can see) with a transparent layer over the actual product and in-between the text. So my question is, how can I fill the text in without losing the "transparent" effect? below is an original image and an image where I have removed the text by filling it in
Many thanks, Ben
i have a signature watermark i put on my favorite images currently i have it is saved as a psd so i open it then move it onto the image, i was trying too create a brush that done this but the writing is white so becomes transparent when i make a new brush and only the camera icon is visible, i also tried to create an action where i recorded opening the psd , moving it onto an image, i was hoping this would work but didnt , something about move brush not defined if i remember, also the brush i created turns out sort of a green color see bottom image i know there probably a simple way around it and would appreciate any help , ive attatched an image of the signature so you know where im at , its transparent i just put a grey layer behind so you can see,
Hello,
I am still in the learning mode with Photoshop. I've run across something I am clueless about. How to save a transparent png or gif. I saved it like I do in PSP but when I posted it on another forum, it has a black background. Can you explain to me how to save it transparent the right way?
Thanks-

Hey everyone, I'm still busy learning bits & bobs. Haven't been posting a lot recently but I have a question about something that is foxing me. I will use the below Bubble image as an example.
If I make an image using (in most cases) multiple layers, but my end goal is to have a single layer png with transparent background. I find when I merge the group, the end result never looks like the original, and no amount of blending fixes it. Am I missing something simple, or is that just the way it is.?
The bubble isn't merged with the bg, just merged into it's own layer, but as you can see the difference however subtle is still different.
Just as an extra note. I even tried exporting to png, instead of merging, but the loaded png has the same result.
Hi,
I'm wondering if this is possible:
The right side is what I'm trying to achieve.
It's a simple enough effect, but the problem is that I'm curious if it can be some sort of dynamic effect in that I can change the "A" text to "B" and still have the outline cut out of the "M" (Or whatever if I need to change the "M" text to "Q" or something).
Basically I need the "A" and "M" to be able to change while the stroke of whatever the "A" letter (or shape) is will always cut out whatever shape, text, or image is placed behind it.
Is this possible without having to manually cut it out of the back image every time?
The illusion can easily be created by having a white background and using a white stroke on the "A" (that creates the effect I'm wanting)..
However I need them to be transparent and easily editable so they can be saved as transparent images for multiple uses quickly and easily.
(I apologize if I didn't get this across very clearly)
Hi All,
Request for assistance to create an action in Photoshop cs6 to Batch Change image background to white.
I need to batch convert high resolution product images through layer/vector mask +/or channels without using the selection tools.
Have tried to create white background layer and place original image made transparent behind ,but did not work for me.
If you can show the way for this or create and upload link to it,that would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
John
Okay, so here's the deal. I have a vintage valentine card that I want to sell as a printable. Currently though I am unable to print this out myself. The problem with this is that I can't take product sample pictures of this image in various uses. Right now I would like to create a "photo" of this vintage card as it would look if someone printed it out on card stock paper, then cut it out along the image outline. This would give a fold-able "greeting card" style, but the card would not be your typical square or rectangle, as the person would cut out the card along the image edge.
Here is the vintage valentine. It is in PNG format to preserve the transparent background.
Here is a similar example of the effect I want to create:
But I want to make the above effect, as if the valentine was cut out along the image edges, and not simply printed on a rectangular card. How would I create a product sample use "photo" with the vintage image in a cut out, standing up, card image?
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Chyina
Hello all,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me make the attached jpg. file into a transparent png file. I'm looking to have all of the red removed and only have the black logo available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
Hello! Very much so a noob question . ive done my research and im just here for a very definite tutorial . im learning how to resize images from Big to small. Only problem is i cant seem to keep the high quality resolution . Ive included both images .. the "moonshine" collage is what id like to minimize. The "Whiskey" image is able to be downsized with no resolution loss when i downsize why? ID also like to keep them PNG or transparent in the background .
the moonshine collage image is one i made in photoshop cs6.
id like to make them W:280 pixels H:110 pixels/100 pixels
Theres a screen shot of the photo in place . The GREEN image is the image in low resolution , which i cannot figure why . the other RED image is how id like all my images to appear . There both pretty big original images as well ..
