How To Isolate A Single Colour And Remove Everything Else.

I am trying to take a scanned document of a house plan, and scale it back to just the think black structural diagram. Surely there must be a way to either remove everything that isn't black? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Remove Black Behind Transparent Material

I have a load of images that I have been given by a manufacturer, some have white backgrounds and are great. Others, have a black background..and are not great. I am needing to edit these black background images to be like the white background images.

You'll notice for the product (attached images) that there is packaging immediately around the yellow string. It's this bit that I am finding incredibly hard to change from the blackish colour to the whitish colour, shown in the picture with the white background.

Does anyone have any ideas please how I can change this black area to be like the 'good' photo? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Removing Black From Full Color Leaves Black Line

See attached image for reference. I'm trying to remove the black from a full color smart object illustration so then I can have another layer which has just black part so I can offset it and have its own texture to it. I need this to be non-destructive so that it can be used with any illustration. When I use the blending option sliders I'm left with a thin black like around the edge of the black. If I move the sliders any further the blue starts to disappear.

Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you need any more info.

How To Make Paint Brush Automatically Paints Colour On Black And White Layer

This is probably an easily solved question as it was something I used to have set before I format my laptop and lost my preferences but here it is..

Before format, when I would apply the Black and White adjustment, my paint brush or pencil tool would automatically pencil/brush colour into the photo, now it doesn't and I can't seem to figure out how to revert it back to how it was. I've Googled it and can't seem to find what I'm looking for, although I think I may be just wording it wrong.

So, as below..

On these pictures I just applied black and white adjustment, hit paint brush or pencil tool and it'd inject colour in to the image, I can't seem to get that to happen anymore.

As I mentioned, someone will probably solve this really quickly.

Appreciate any help you can give.

Help With Removing Background From Glass Terrariums

Hey there,

I have been working at this problem for a while and still haven't found a good solution, so here goes:

I am starting a new business making terrariums and am starting to take product shots to build my website. I am trying to take the photo of a few terrariums (glass container with plants in it), remove the background and put it over a new background layer of a forest scene. After about 4 hours of trial and error (and much manual outline selection) I got to the .gif attachment you see below, it's grainy and there is not good colour detail.

I sometimes found it hard to take clear photos of the plants inside the terrariums because there was a lot of glare on the glass. I have 4 background colour options: blue, red, white and black. I opted for the red because I thought it would be the most contrasting with the contents of the terrarium.

What would be the best way to remove the background and to achieve this?

Can I Easily Convert Grey Channels To Colour Layer (these Were For Screen Printing)

Hi Guys,
Im new to the forum and have a tricky question.
Ive been given a large amount of designs that have been colour separated for use by screen printers.
I will go through the image details below but history of the images is sketchy to say the elast.

The layer shows a black and white image and has been saved in grayscale mode.
There are numerous colour channels which are unselected. When you select them all the colour fills in gradually until its looks great. But this doesnt actually change anything eg Layer, so that is always black and white.
How can I get the printed output to look like the image when all colour layers are selected.
Im not screen printing, I am digitally printing so dont need sep colours.
I have attached an example design so you can understand better what I mean.
Any help will be massively appreciated guys.
If I can find an easy way to do this I will hopefully get a script designed that will convert 100s in bulk. Fingers crossed as right now Im lost.
Thanks guys
Neil

Black Silhouette Has Gray Trim That Requires Removal. Assistance Requested.

The attached picture is the black silhouette of a bass with transparent background (on its layer) but when I isolated it and did a background eraser a remnant of gray outline remains in many areas of the picture (this can be seen by turning on the black layer also in the file). I have tried to do additional color eraser to no avail. Can someone help me get this gray gone and leave only the black on the layer. I would like to know what tools and techniques you use as well. Your help is appreciated.
Heck I cant get the .psd to attach so I added i made examples below the first with the outline and transparent background looks good but when you put it on a black background (image2) you see the outlines in gray that I want to get rid of or turn black. Either way the goal would be when I turn on the black background the fish should disappear.
Thanks,
Dino

Something Up With The Gradient Tool?

Hi I've just created a white circle. I would like to add some shading on it to make it appear more 3D.

I use the gradient tool...but instead of it being white...with dark grey/black shading. It goes from white and fades to the colour of the background it's on. I've spent hours messing around with the gradient tool and the colours will not change. It just fades to whatever background it's on rather than a specified colour. All I want is a white sphere with black shading...rather than see through white.

It's driving me mad.

Cheers

Ps Cc 2014 Tab Info...

Short and sweet this one...

Is it possible to remove the layer name from the active document tab?

When I have a text layer selected the whole text is displayed in the tab meaning the tab can be as wide as the whole workspace!
(Which is right PITA when you have more than 1 document open)

Regards.
