Creating Editable Text Fields.

Hi Guys n gals!

I'm helping out a friend to make a few changes to a brochure. Question is can I make editable text fields that my friend can use in a freeware such as acrobat?

This would apply to head/bodytexts. The changes would just mean to replace words and sentences with new ones so no font or colorchanges is needed, however keeping text effects would be great if possible.

I've already tried using forms in acrobat pro9 any other suggestions?

Tips For Working With Text

Hi guys,

Hoping you might be able to help me out. I'm working on creating a portfolio website to showcase various creative works of mine that combine both my photography, and my writing. The portfolio site I'm building is heavily image orientated so I'm working on a way to use images to present my written work.

My idea at the moment is to break my stories up into manageable 'chunks' and place them over images that help tell stories.

I've been playing around in PS today, trying to work out how this can be done effectively. What I created however, isn't particularly great and I was hoping you guys might have some tips for working with text in Photoshop??

The image below is what I've got so far (very basic and incredibly unfinished!), I used a random font I found that I liked (any things I should look for in a font?), used the skew, and perspective tools after converting to smart object and I created a bit of shadowing under the text. One of the issues I had was that it's awkward to know what will happen to the text when it's distorted so I found myself duplicating the first text layer to skew, then deleting, editing the text a bit and repeating to get the formatting. It was quite a faff, is there an easier way?

I would really appreciate any feedback, constructive criticism, and tips. I'd like to make this Photoshopping process as simple as possible for myself in the future so I can keep creating easily.

Cheers,
KQ

Editing Text In Layer Pallet?

I used a psd template a while back that allowed me to change the text on the photo by changing it in the layers pallet as opposed to changing it on the actual photo itself. How do I change a text layer to make it editable in the layers pallet?

Newbie Trying To Make Simple Changes To Category Images Please Help!

Hello,

I'm new to PS and new to this forum, so be kind! I need to edit the font used in my product category images and to do it I have tried filling the text in with the matching colour, and then retype the text. However the images have been created (as you can see) with a transparent layer over the actual product and in-between the text. So my question is, how can I fill the text in without losing the "transparent" effect? below is an original image and an image where I have removed the text by filling it in

Many thanks, Ben

Text In A Complex Shape - Hole In The Middle

Hi all.
I'm no newbie to Photoshop but today I came across something that annoyed me as it should be easy, but I just can't seem to make it work.
Ok, so let's say I have a load of text - lorem ipsum x 200 words - and I want to put that text in a shape and have it fill the shape.
Now, I know that I can make a path and click within it with the text tool to fill that path. However, I want to fill a shape that has a complex hole in the middle of it, which I want the text to flow around and past.
For example, let's say that I need to fill the area marked in green in the image below with text, leaving the white areas (there is also a white border) clear.
I have made a path but when I use the type tool it just fills in the rectangle and ignores the central area.
Any ideas?

Problem With Curved Text On Path Cs4

I did find a post to this but the solution did not help me and it was over a year ago so I did not want to bump an old thread. Here was the post I came across

"I'm having a bit of a strange problem with the text tool on CS4 at the moment.

When I have drawn a work-path with the pen tool and then attempt to type along it the text does now show up and I cannot edit it.
The cursor changes when I hover over the start of the path to indicate that the type path is available but once I click and start typing nothing seems to happen. The name of the text layer changes to what I've just typed however so it is definitely inputting it somewhere."

This is exactly what I am dealing with now. The solution in the original thread said make sure the text is not white on white background ( mine is black on transparent ) and is left justified and not center or right. My text is left justified and it still does not show up. My text is Wet Dynamite. The odd thing is my font size is currently 72, if I drop it down to 48, the W shows if I go smaller it disappears again. Even at 48 when the W shows, if I try to retype, I still can't see the rest of the phrase. I have done this method before and had no issues in the past with this technique. This seems like a bug in CS4 to me.

Any help with this would be great as I can't get past this stage in my design and can't use the warp tool for text because it looks like crap.

Thank you for your time. Ive saved my project out into a test file so you can see. If you can load it and easily see or add the text in the top curved path, then I know there has to be an issue with my CS4

Tutorial On Distorted Text?

Can you point me to a tutorial on distorting text in PS CC 2014?

I've been asked, by a friend, to do a postcard like project that uses photos
behind text as done in the image attached of a billboard here in town. The
word is "FAIR", not "Orlando" as in the sign.

I know how to create the open text letters and all the other steps of this
type of project, but I don't know how to distort the text letters similar to
what is done here.

I've played around with putting each letter on a layer and trying to
distort them, but haven't had much luck in getting what I want.

Not asking for it to be done. Teach me how or point me to a tutorial,
please.

Can Anybody Help Me Out Please!

hi guys! reserved here! i just recently started up a new MLG Team for my Gaming Community XGC "Xiled Gaming Community" my team consists of some of the best players within xgc and we need a logo, so i was wondering if someone would be awesome enough to make one for me?

if you decide to what id like is rather simple for right now, all i want is to have like a 3D style text maybe with the first text "XG" in bold and the color to be yellow, now i want all the text to be diagonal starting from the bottom left to the top right if possible. then right under that text i want "Xiled Gamers" same text same color. then behind all the text i was like a shattered glass effect right where the "XG" is going across the whole thing if possible. if someone could do this for me, my whole team and i will be forever grateful!

How To Create

Hey, I've been doing graphics related work for several years now, but only now did it land me a job.

Mostly my task is about giving the client a visualization, basically a preview of how his desired logo will look when embossed (or debossed) on the metal surface. My boss tells me that I'm doing a good job, but I know it doesn't look perfectly ideal, so could anyone tell me how I should make these short of effects?

Currently (as I show in the attachments), I always start with making a frontal view of the text, which is what gets commonly explained in tutorials online regarding emboss effects.

Then, I put the image on the tin can.I sometimes toy with the opacity and other effects.

This is considered serviceable. However on closer glance, it is problematic:
For one, it's hard to tell if it's embossed or debossed.
I feel like it's because I still use it as a 2d image with no real depth, while with it meant to be an illusion of a 3d text, it should bend with the perspective, however I have some trouble to wrap my head around that//

Hence I want to ask: Does anyone know a way to make this look much better?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I tried doing something myself, hence the last third image, it's am improvement, but still... maybe someone knows something better?
