Photo Retouching/restoration Practice 3

I have seen this image before and we may have used it a while back. With a whole new set of players, I feel it's safe to bring it back in a new challenge.

No comments from the cheap seats on the condition of her skin. This is a lovely young woman and I would hope that we can all treat her image with respect.

I encourage everyone to give it a try even if your new to Photoshop. All participants should be prepared to explain the techniques they have been using, as we can't learn or help without some idea as to how it was accomplished.

Good luck!

Here is my 1st attempt.

edit: I start by opening the original and duplicating it and then turning off the original layer.
I create a new layer. This is the layer that I will do all of the following adjustments on.

I started by using the following tools and settings.
Healing Brush Tool - Mode= normal - Source= Sampled - Clone sample mode= Current level and below.
Spot Healing Brush Tool - Mode= Normal - Type= Content aware - Sample cloned data from composited data= Sample all layers.
Brush Tool - Mode= Normal - Opacity= 100% - Flow= 1%

This is the image (Layer A) after only using the tools above and one added Levels Adjustment Layer.

edit: I then select the uppermost layer (Levels Adjustment layer) and hit Shift>Option>Command + E to stamp all visible layers. I then name this layer A.
I highlight all other layers except layer A and the original background layer and group them. I then turn off the group.

I then start where the tutorial starts with only the layer A turned on.

Help With Photo Restoration.

Hey fellow Gurus... so I need a Huge favor.. can anyone with photoshop.. please revive this photo.. and remove all that awful glare and make my gf and I ... visible again?!?!?! MANY THANKS!!

Clip And Tuck

Surgeons of the sight and physicians of photos, I challenge thee! I lost quite a bit of weight between the time of me getting this photo taken and now (25lbs or so). I'd really like to see what you fine folks are capable of in terms of editing. If you can make some 'weight loss' look as realistic as possible, that would be just smashing. (not as if you guys and gals aren't skilled enough at that as it is!). ;)

Specifically, I need my face thinned out a bit and my stomach sorted out a tad. Don't worry about anything below the bass guitar as I am pretty much just using the top half of the photo. As a token of my sincere gratitude, for any entry, I will be happy to for you to message me whenever you like for my knowledge on music practice, theory and anything else. Any questions, just ask.

Take care and happy editing!

(PS - Message me if you need a higher quality version. I'm not sure what to expect as I'm so new here)

Challenge To Sharpen Biggest Galaxy Picture...

I linked here to the biggest picture of any galaxy taken by the Hubble telescope of Andromeda, M31. It is such an incredible photo, and when I zoom in, I can see each star.

But, as good as the Hubble is, each star is a bit of a blur due to the very long exposure times, and weaknesses of the photo sensors, etc...so the stars appear much larger than they really are. When you look up at night into the sky, you don't see each star as a blob like these, but rather, a pinpoint of tiniest light, sharp with emptiness around it.

So, the challenge is...is it possible to edit this photo to make each star a much smaller point of light, so the stars would appear as they do in reality?

If it's too big of a project, what about editing just a small frame of a zoomed-in image, like the pic above?

How To Remove This Stain

I am currently learning Photoshop and want to get into photo restoration as well which have had some good results with but this photo has me stumped as to how to remove this splash of brown from the uniforms of the two men on the left and some on the uniform of the guy on the right. Could I get a step by step on how to bring these uniforms back to original?

Photo Retouching Practice.

I recently read a comment in this THREAD and decided I would start a thread with a a few torn images that need to be repaired.

For anyone interested in attempting a repair, please feel free to join in! Post your progress and most of all, ask questions if needed. For you more seasoned shoppers, this is not a place to show off your skills as much as it is an opportunity to show and help others to learn effective techniques used in these types of repairs.

If you read the post I linked you with, one of the first steps is to select the torn pieces and move them to their own layers.
The separate pieces then need to be moved in to proper position with the Move Tool.

Good luck.

Group Challenge For Portfolio Website Design & Branding

I thought we could try something different I have always said I see PSG as a place where people are looking to improve their skills and take them to the next level. So lets look at a real life situation 1 of the more common things freelance designers are asked to do create a name/brand (if not already supplied by Client) logo, Business card and a website.

So after initial discussions it will go like this the name will be decided in this thread if their is interest in the challenge this is where we will find out.

week 1 challenge will designing a logo

Week 2 implementing that logo into a Business card

Week 3 Making a flyer or poster to advertise the fake company

week 4 design a website mock up for the company

week 5 make the actual website if we feel we want to take it to that level lol.

so vote in the poll yes or no if you would like to see this go ahead and if we have more than 10 votes for it then I will go about getting it started.

Photo Restoration Issue

I was doing a restoration project for the community center that i work for, But I got an issue with the lighter spots in the surrounded area. I planed to make a selection of the areas, use hue/ saturation to desaturate and then equal the tones between light and dark making an adjustment dodge and burn layers. But I think there are other methods as well which can solve this issue. You can download the untouched original version of the pic from the link and feel welcome to give a try whit your versions and suggestions of this project.

I will appreciate your opinion and help.

Here is my work in progress and the issue:

Retouching Help

Just what it said...I would like some retouching help.

I found this damaged image on the web, for my amusement only I decided I wanted to fix it up.

I am lost on removing the blue, and it has a darker fringe which makes it tough. I will post the whole thing, but the small section with the bhue is my need. ..The small sections on the background were easy, but thats background!

Any pointers would help me learn this!
