Its probably me again but the 'Load Files into Stack...' script in PS CC 2014 doesn't seem to want to play.
[ With no document open and loading a list of 5 images ]
I get two documents created, one with just the last file in the list opened and the other with a blank layer, the same image as the other document and a vertical guideline way off to the left.
This works fine in PS CC but not in 2014.
(CS6 works ok too)
Can anyone just confirm if its me or if it really doesn't work in 2014.
Many thanks.
Regards.
MrTom.
Short and sweet this one...
Is it possible to remove the layer name from the active document tab?
When I have a text layer selected the whole text is displayed in the tab meaning the tab can be as wide as the whole workspace!
(Which is right PITA when you have more than 1 document open)

MrTom.
Can somebody using PS CC or PS 2014 please confirm whether the file names are correct for split channels.
Procedu
1. Open a file, (must be flattened if a layered PSD).
2. From the Channels Panel Fly-Out menu choose 'Split Channels'.
3. The file names of the resulting documents should be:
For RGB or CMYK file 'butterfly.png':
butterfly.png_Red or _Cyan
butterfly.png_Green or _Magenta
butterfly.png_Blue or _Yellow
butterfly.png_Black
My results a
AR_Red
_Green
A_Blue
These results are the same for every file I've tried. The original filename is totally disregarded.
Is this just me or is it PS CC and PS 2014?
Your feedback is appreciated.
Thank you.
Regards.

Previewing and selecting fonts in Photoshop has never been a slick affair at the best of times and for me Adobe's latest 'upgrade' just makes the whole process even more annoying.
I'd rather place my wedding tackle in the mouth of a lion whilst flicking his love spuds with a wet towel.
This is a stupid question really, but is there a better way to preview and select fonts in Photoshop?
I've tried the trial of TypeDNA and whilst the standalone app is pretty good I couldn't get the PS plug-in to work.
Extension manager installed it OK but for some reason it doesn't show up as an extension in PS....neither in CC nor CC 2014.
The Type DNA website doesn't appear to have anything on troubleshooting despite being crammed full of info, although I may just have missed it.
So what does every one else use/do?
Am I alone in being annoyed by Adobes latest 'Font Preview upgrade'?
Has anyone else tried TypeDNA and got the plug-in to work in either CC or CC 2014?
...Or should I just forget it and keep flicking the lions pods?
Regards.

Hallo everybody,
I didn't understand how copy a vector layer from a document in an other document. Same thing about a selection: how to copy it created (and saved) in a document - to another document?
I mean when both document are opened..., of course.
Thanks for a reply.
I have several images in different layer in PS3 ( macro images with different points of focus).
I have aligned all layers ok, but when trying to blend the layer (all layers selected) using the auto blend layers tools, the tool does not give me the stacked images button.
Instead it launches straight into the process.
The results are not what I am expecting, each layer bar one has a totally black mask, and the image is not a blend of all the images.
All tutorials for the process using CS3 show a button for selecting "stack images" mine doesn't.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help as I am going mad with it
I've just discovered the existence of the Knockout feature in the Layer Blending Options. If you select Deep Knockout it allows your current layer to bypass all intermediate layers below it and instead blend only with the original, bottom Background layer.
I tried a few experiments and got Deep Knockout to work, but it only seems to work if the original background layer is present and intact. If I delete or rename the background layer, or substitute something else as my bottom layer, the Deep Knockout doesn't recognize this new bottom layer as the "Background" and drills right past it down to emptiness---an entire screen of blank pixels.
How do I take the bottom-most layer of my stack and redefine it as a Background, so that Deep Knockout will recognize it? (Also, I've never understood why Photoshop even bothers with the background layer, what special properties it has, and what advantage it provides vesus any other "normal" layer that sits at the bottom of the stack.)
Thanks
Hello,
I have a quite specific question about the use of Photoshop.
I wish to import a stack of images as layers in a Photoshop file. Then I wish to apply a certain rotation and translation on each of these layers (so no rescaling operation, only rotation and translations).
My question is the following. How can I somehow "save" the parameters of each translation and rotation for each layer so I can apply them on another stack of images later on? Basically, I wish to save the "Transformation matrix" for each layer and then be able to reapply it to another stack of images.
I thought of doing scripts and saving each operation, but I really need to be flexible and be able to go back to my primary stack of images and re-rotate or re-translate them later on if necessary, and resave the "transformation matrix".
Thank you in advance for your help and your time
Best,
Julia
OK, now I'm asking for help. What technique have the Gurus here
used to change the backgrounds in their submissions?
While I have CC 2014, I tend to use older methods using Layer
Masks and exposing what is underneath. I've done that for years.
I rarely use the newer Content-Aware Fill in anything larger than,
say, removing a beer can from a landscape shot. The area has
to be far enough removed from unsimilar features to be a clean
replacement. Large areas pick up too much stuff that has to be
taken out. I'm here to learn.
I'm new to this forum, and work strictly on my own photographs
usually, but I'd like to know how others go about these modifications.
Seeing the result doesn't tell me how the Guru got there.
I wanted to add a deckled edge to a photograph to give it the appearance of
an old print. There are a zillion tutorials online on how to do this that show
several different methods.
I chose one that works, but I wonder what is your favorite in CS 2014?
Hi everyone I'm a complete beginner with photoshop, I have CS6 I'm looking to copy a style of text from a photo and replace it with other text.
The style of text I am trying to copy is from a stamp so I don't think it will be in selection of texts available in photoshop, have tried looking around youtube for tutorials but I cannot find anything along these lines.
I've attached a photo of the text I would like to change, it says JUN 2014 I would like to change it to AUG 2014 using the same text.
Any advice much appreciated
Thanks
