Fix Two Jagged Lines

Good evening,

I created this flag (click for larger version, original is 1800 x 1080 pixels):

The lines of the white triangle however are very jagged. Would it be possible for someone to make those lines smooth without changing other details of this picture?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. I hope that someone can help me further.

Best regards,

Dotted Lines In Cs3?

I am doing a tutorial that calls for dotted lines. I believe this tut is done with the newest version of Photoshop out there, so it has no problem making dotted lines. But I just cannot find a way to make them with my CS3. Dotted lines have always been easy in other graphics programs I've used.

I tried going to Style/ Dotted Strokes and I get a halfway decent result by using "no fill". But I can't get the lines in any color except white or black. It's not very editable, either.

Is there a way to get dotted lines or strokes with CS3?

Thanks,
pslane

Tracking Filter Steps

Hi all

Is there a way to follow the steps that happen when I choose a particular filter so I could make it by myself?
I use the 'plastic wrap' filter but I want to change several components that are made automatically and I do not want all of them.
thanks.

(Basically I take white lines on a black background and use the 'Plastic warp' filter, it thickens the lines and changes the texture and that's good for me - but it adds a bright spot behind the lines, which I do not want because I need it in a separate layer).

High Resolution Picture On Low Resolution Big Monitor

Hi!
I have a dilemma with a high resolution picture that I want to use on a large screen. The problem is the screen has a low resolution which seem to distort the picture sometimes. Also I would like to zoom in the picture.

The monitor is a 47 inch HP LD4720tm sporting a 1,920 by 1,080 resolution. So the resoultion is like an ordinary desktop monitor but the size is more than double that. In other words, the pixel density (ppi) is much smaller.

The picture is of a clock. Size is about 670X670 pixels. I cropped out this clock from a larger 12MP Raw format Nikon picture. The cropped out clock looks something like this (my real image is copyright protected but this is very similar with 700x644px):

On the screen this picture should take up a fixed size of 170X170 pixels (ie about 10% of the monitor).

The first way I did this was to simply in Photoshop Elements save the 670X670 picture as a png and with dimensions 170X170 pixels. ("Save for web" to get it as small in size as possible and chose png and 170X170). Then I put the 170X170 pic on the background canvas. It looks very nice. However, when I zoomed in the numbers and other details look very jagged or blurry.

So now I tried with the larger resolution 670X670px. I put this on the background too, and as it should only take up 170X170px, I clicked it and dragged to resize it. But this picture looks much worse than the 170X170 pic. I suppose the 170X170 pic perfectly fits the 170X170 space while the 670X670px is distorted. I mean, for the 170X170 pic there will be one pixel for each monitor point. When I do the exact same comparison on a 21 inch 1920X1080 monitor they look equally good, so it must be due to the low pixel density of the 48 inch monitor where the human eye can see each pixel.

However, now when I zoom in the details for the 670X670px were clearly visible.

I tried a few other resoultions like 360X360 and 270X270 (I resized the 670X670 pic to these sizes) and both png and jpeg. They also looked worse in normal view but of course in zoomed view they displayed more details than the 170X170 pic.

My dilemma now is how to get an image that will look good both when zoomed in and when in 100% zoom (normal view) on this large screen. Is there a way to do this. Eg like resizing to a resolution larger than 170X170 that will also look good in normal view.

Thanks.

Photoshop Request?

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your time
There's this picture I'd like to use as my desktop wallpaper, but it looks a bit blurry and unpolished, so I would be really thankful if anyone could sharpen the lines and make it HD without changing its size.
I don't know if this is possible but any help will be appreciated.
Thanks again!

Creating Dotted Lines

i am sure this should be relatively easy , but just don't know how ?? , i basically want to create something like this :

notice the "dots" are actually rectangular .

now this can be achieved with the pen tool and than using a brush and doing "stroke path" but there is a problems :

-- with the pen tool its difficult to get the circular shape .

is there a better way of doing this ? or does it just require better precision with the pen tool ??

i wanted to create such lines and use it like in a picture like this :

if somebody can give me a really vague idea , as to how i could , it will be great .

Thanks .

2 Things That Are Bothering Me

1. Is there anyway to get around the popup box that says "no pixels were selected"? This bothers me when I want to make something really small into a selection.

2. My pen tool lines are tapered at the ends and I need help fixing this.

Thanks!

Curvy Lines

Just a quick question , whats the best way to make those curvy line in these images (for the 1st images the curvy/wavy lines are in the middle and for the secound its right at the bottom) ? is the pen tool the best bet or using shapes ? i saw one tutorial in which one guy used shapes , but that kind of seemed to be rigid . Please advice me .

Thank you .

Revising A Png File. Question!

I have a PNG image that I have changed.

I'm wondering why it looks so different from the original.

I don't have the layered PS files so had to work off the PNG file...

The top one is the one I changed. The bottom one is the original.

Why is it that the original looks so clean and the revised one has little black lines underneath the icons etc?

Is there a different way to save that I should be using? I just chose save as: PNG

Any help would be appreciated.
