Can Cs3 Or Cs5 Be Purchased?

I would like to purchase an older version of Photoshop such as CS3 or CS5. I know from experience at work that the older versions are quite suitable for my needs. I'm hoping they are available for prices lower than when they were first released. I'd be using it at home on a fairly new OS X Mac. Did not find info on this on the Adobe website. Am seeing prices ranging from $350 to $2,000 on other sites. Don't know what to believe. Anyone know of a trustworthy site I can go to buy CS3 or CS5? Are license transfers o.k.? Maybe I can find someone who has CS3/5 who is no longer using it or any of the upgrades? Could these older versions even run on OS X? Thanks.

Considering Cs6

I am using CS3 now and seriously considering finding me a copy of CS6 to purchase. There are so many versions, I am confused about what to buy and worried I might buy the wrong software. Can you look at this and tell me if it is a good version or not? I like the price. (I do hate to go in debt!) Thank you.

Photoshop Cc Vs Photoshop Cs??

There's a lot of confusion about Adobe's new Creative Cloud.
It's assumed that all Adobe products will be available via a monthly subscription only, and that may be true.
I found this post by Scott Kelby, a Photoshop heavy weight.

My Adobe Creative Cloud Quick Q&A

Read the article and you'll see 2 comments that seem to contradict the subscription only assumption most people have.

Q. Do I have to sign-up for a Creative Cloud membership or can I just upgrade like always?
A. Nope—you can just upgrade like always.

Q. What if it’s not for me?
A. That’s totally cool. You can pretend the Creative Cloud doesn’t exist, and just pay up front for upgrades and full versions of the software like you used to. The Creative Cloud is an option — one that makes sense for a lot of people who can’t handle the up-front costs of the regular Creative Suite, but if it’s not for you, no biggie.

I'm posting this with very limited knowledge on how CC will work and what it means to those of us individuals that have single licenses for Adobe products.
I'm making this post a sticky and hope any PS_CC comments and updates will be posted here until we understand what this means to us.

Best Place To Buy Cs 6

Does anyone know the best place to buy a genuine copy of CS6, I've seen a few "discounted sites" that I wonder if they're selling rookie versions which I'd rather steer clear of and what's the difference between the standard and extended versions?

A lot of them also seem to be downloads which I've always been a bit wary of but as someone mentioned if you burn it onto a CD you've got a copy of on disk anyway so there's not really any difference.

Any help and links to "trusted sites" would be greatly appreciated.

Uninstalling Versions Of Ps Cc

I assume the 2014 version is more current, I'm note sure what the extra version is.

Edit Request: Make Coworker Look Like Braveheart

Hello,

I'm a photoshop noob trying to create team t shirts for an event at my work and was trying to get my coworker to look like braveheart. I had a friend help me do the facepaint, but haven't had any success in actually making him look like braveheart. I would keep struggling through it myself, but I'm short on time and I was hoping it would come out well so my coworker isn't offended by it. The image I added was just something I was sort of picturing, but if you find a better positioned picture or something along those lines feel free to ditch this one. The image of my coworker is fairly low resolution but it's going onto a t shirt so it wouldn't be that crisp anyways. Thanks in advance!

Hardware Question - Imac 27" And Photoshop Cc

Hello PSGs!

I was wondering if there were any techies out there that could answer a question for me.

I'm retouching with CC on a superpowered Mac at school. I don't do video or 3D editing, just compositing, beauty retouching, etc. (tons of layers but nothing too insane). Most of the files I'm working on are full sized 23mp images at 16bit, and I also work on large (up to 1GB) scans (tiffs from fff files).

I'm buying a 27" (non-Retina/5K) iMac for home use, and was wondering if anybody knew if there was a real performance issue with the storage (it comes standard with Serial ATA 1TB but I was considering upgrading to 512GB flash instead) once you're inside the program, or does the difference mainly translate to faster start-up and opening applications? Has anyone on here upgraded and noticed a difference?

I've read about a zillion forums and talked to multiples salespeople but I am hoping for PHOTOSHOP users specific direct experience. If it takes a second or two longer to open CC I don't care about that, and I'd rather invest the $500 upgrade fee somewhere else.

As it is I'm upgrading from 3.4/i5 to 3.5GHz i7, upgrading the Graphics card from 2GB to 4GB and upgrading the RAM to 16GB. Does anybody with direct experience know if that extra $500 for the upgrade to the flash storage is going to translate into much more than a quicker launch?

I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong area, I'm new to the forums but excited to join!

Thanks!

Choosing A Versatile Color Space For Color Correction

Hi everybody,
I'l like just to ask what do ypu suggest about choosing a versatile Color Space for Color Correction for these actual times in witch we have the necessity to deliver a lot of graphic asset formats (for Web and Print and Video...).
So,we should be work in Photoshop, to make Color Correction, assign a good Color profile (color space) as standard sRGB, or better, with Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGA as top quality.
Only the end, if we are ready with CC process, we should save some different .psd file versions as CMYK (for print issue), Rec. 709, (if we have to use photo in video), sRBG for web.
Is it a good choice/workflow, or I'm wrong...?

Many thanks for a reply!

Cheers

Font Preview In Cc & Cc 2014

Previewing and selecting fonts in Photoshop has never been a slick affair at the best of times and for me Adobe's latest 'upgrade' just makes the whole process even more annoying.

I'd rather place my wedding tackle in the mouth of a lion whilst flicking his love spuds with a wet towel.

This is a stupid question really, but is there a better way to preview and select fonts in Photoshop?

I've tried the trial of TypeDNA and whilst the standalone app is pretty good I couldn't get the PS plug-in to work.
Extension manager installed it OK but for some reason it doesn't show up as an extension in PS....neither in CC nor CC 2014.
The Type DNA website doesn't appear to have anything on troubleshooting despite being crammed full of info, although I may just have missed it.

So what does every one else use/do?
Am I alone in being annoyed by Adobes latest 'Font Preview upgrade'?
Has anyone else tried TypeDNA and got the plug-in to work in either CC or CC 2014?

...Or should I just forget it and keep flicking the lions pods?

Regards.
MrTom.

Adding Some Flare To Photos

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a few Adobe Photoshop actions and Adobe Lightroom presets to help add a little flare to my photos. At the moment, I'm subscribed to Adobe Bloom for my action needs.

Please reply with high quality options and I'll definitely go take a look!
