I am doing a tutorial that calls for dotted lines. I believe this tut is done with the newest version of Photoshop out there, so it has no problem making dotted lines. But I just cannot find a way to make them with my CS3. Dotted lines have always been easy in other graphics programs I've used.
I tried going to Style/ Dotted Strokes and I get a halfway decent result by using "no fill". But I can't get the lines in any color except white or black. It's not very editable, either.
Is there a way to get dotted lines or strokes with CS3?
Thanks,
pslane
i am sure this should be relatively easy , but just don't know how ?? , i basically want to create something like this :
notice the "dots" are actually rectangular .
now this can be achieved with the pen tool and than using a brush and doing "stroke path" but there is a problems :
-- with the pen tool its difficult to get the circular shape .
is there a better way of doing this ? or does it just require better precision with the pen tool ??
i wanted to create such lines and use it like in a picture like this :
if somebody can give me a really vague idea , as to how i could , it will be great .
Thanks .

Hi, the image I have attached has a white dotted/sprinkled effect rather than a solid color. As you can see the dots are more dense in some areas, so I assume its not a fill pattern. Is it a brush that was applied more in some areas? or is it a large transparent image with random white specks applied as a new layer to the whole image, as the effect is also applied to the font.
Good evening,
I created this flag (click for larger version, original is 1800 x 1080 pixels):
The lines of the white triangle however are very jagged. Would it be possible for someone to make those lines smooth without changing other details of this picture?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. I hope that someone can help me further.
Best regards,
Hi all
Is there a way to follow the steps that happen when I choose a particular filter so I could make it by myself?
I use the 'plastic wrap' filter but I want to change several components that are made automatically and I do not want all of them.
thanks.
(Basically I take white lines on a black background and use the 'Plastic warp' filter, it thickens the lines and changes the texture and that's good for me - but it adds a bright spot behind the lines, which I do not want because I need it in a separate layer).
Hi everyone,
I am buliding a werbsite for my wife and I like to draw these type of lines in Photoshop (or Fireworks).
I am using CS5.1
Can someone show me a easy way to do it?
Just a quick question , whats the best way to make those curvy line in these images (for the 1st images the curvy/wavy lines are in the middle and for the secound its right at the bottom) ? is the pen tool the best bet or using shapes ? i saw one tutorial in which one guy used shapes , but that kind of seemed to be rigid . Please advice me .
Thank you .

Hi, there. This is my first post on photoshopgurus. I do cartoon maps of towns and properties. I enjoy all aspects except doing trees. My process goes as such: I pencil draw the area and then trace with a black art pen. I then scan it in. From there I do clean up in photoshop of lines and I close any missing gaps so I can use the bucket fill to drop colors into areas. With trees this is a very tedious thing to do, expecially making sure every black line is connected. Also with trees I select the inside with the magic wand and drop gradients in. I want a different look and a less laborious task. When I look at similar artwork from other people I want to do the same technique as them but don't know an efficient way to do it. They have filled trees with a radius gradient but didn't have to outline their shape in all black to contain it. Yet they somewhat retain the same shape even though it can leak outside of the lines. Which I like the look of. Does anyone know how I can acheive this look in a timely manner? Thanks for all your input. How can I accomplish the look of the first tree?
Hello everyone,
I have a very big issue that I don't know how to sort out.
I'm creating some mockups of some fashion products and I'm planning to use some "light strokes" effects.
Usually you achieve this blending some light strokes on a black background on using "Multiply" etc. on an image that has a dark background [in this way the black background of the light strokes disappears]. I tried to do this on backgrounds more "clear" but the light strokes cannot be seen [same for flames or whatever is "light"].
Does someone know how to blend light on white?
Thank you very much in advance!
Best
I'd like to remove the ugly scan lines in the middle of this picture. Can someone help me out? Thanks!
How to get this type of matte finish with vertical lines. Please see attached pictures or refer to the url in the website. Appreciate help.
