Just found this post, thought it might be useful for people here, although I don't recommend turning on the volume to watch the video unless you like weird music

Just found these Adobe Photoshop Tutorials that may help newbies to the program, I'd imagine many of you here are most likely aware of these, but for those that aren't hopefully it will help them

And there's also this for all Adobe products

There's a lot of confusion about Adobe's new Creative Cloud.
It's assumed that all Adobe products will be available via a monthly subscription only, and that may be true.
I found this post by Scott Kelby, a Photoshop heavy weight.
My Adobe Creative Cloud Quick Q&A
Read the article and you'll see 2 comments that seem to contradict the subscription only assumption most people have.
Q. Do I have to sign-up for a Creative Cloud membership or can I just upgrade like always?
A. Nope—you can just upgrade like always.
Q. What if it’s not for me?
A. That’s totally cool. You can pretend the Creative Cloud doesn’t exist, and just pay up front for upgrades and full versions of the software like you used to. The Creative Cloud is an option — one that makes sense for a lot of people who can’t handle the up-front costs of the regular Creative Suite, but if it’s not for you, no biggie.

I'm posting this with very limited knowledge on how CC will work and what it means to those of us individuals that have single licenses for Adobe products.
I'm making this post a sticky and hope any PS_CC comments and updates will be posted here until we understand what this means to us.

Hi guys,
I'm really interested in learning realistic photomanipulations of characters (for example, taking a character from an image and compositing it seamlessly into another), but i've just started learning photoshop at the moment, so i was wondering if anyone could point me towards the right directions perhaps?
There's so many areas to learn when it comes to Photoshop, and due to the wide variety of art professional who use this software, surely some techniques or areas of photoshop are more relevant to certain type of artists- so when it comes to realistic photomanipulation, what areas of photoshop should i learn or focus on? and does anyone know of any good tutorials/guides/web sties/ or any learning resources they could recommend?
thanks in avance.
Who would have thought that 3D animation in PS was even possible..?
I didn't.
With time on my hands over Easter I'd thought I'd try and get to grips with the 3D part of PS, not because I'm ever going to use it but there have been several PS 3D related questions on the forum lately and well, I couldn't answer any of them because I just didn't know enough about the 3D part of PS.
Well.....after a short time playing around with it its pretty clear its not perfect, but, it does do some pretty advanced stuff for an image editor...
Ok, so its no masterpiece and its not going to win any prizes but its pretty impressive considering its not a 'major' part of PS.....there is a lot going on in just that 5 second clip.
Anyway, I'm going to continue playing and see what else this 3D thang can do.
I'll say now though that without my background in professional 3D applications I would be totally lost. Fair play to Adobe for using the right terminology but I can image most people would be lost at the fist fence.....I found very little [useful] documentation on 3D in PS when searching for help.
So that's my Easter plan.....that and copious amounts of chocolate of course.
Watch this space!
Regards.

hi friends,
i'm a software developer , web, desktop and mobile applications. Currently i'm learning Photoshop. I need to learn Photoshop is to create web graphics (control Icons, web banners and adverts etc.), desktop applications graphics (Icons and images) and application icons for mobile devices. At the moment i have a training video series by "lynda.com" but it teaches me how to modify / manipulate images taken from cameras and make post cards and so forth. My Photoshop basics are really bad. So i need to learn everything from the scratch. For my purpose could anyone tell me the best Photoshop video training series out there?
thanks
Does anyone know how to create the shape for the orange captions in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37B5Zm3pC-A#t=29 Thank You.
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a few Adobe Photoshop actions and Adobe Lightroom presets to help add a little flare to my photos. At the moment, I'm subscribed to Adobe Bloom for my action needs.
Please reply with high quality options and I'll definitely go take a look!
Hi!
I read the guidelines for requesting a free image edit request but please excuse me if this is the wrong forum (?).
I have a photo I'd love to photoshop a pair of strangers OUT of. My stepbrother and I just did an incredible hike at Zion National Park, and I'd love to blow up the picture and frame it for his birthday. The problem is the strangers in the pic are very distracting (in my opinion) and take away from the main focus of the image. Therefore I'd like to request help in removing the strangers (the 2 people on the left, in the orange and blue shirt).
Typically I would love instructions on how to do this myself, but unfortunately I don't have Adobe Photoshop and my image editing skills are very limited (to Picasa, hehe). Therefore if anybody would like to help me photoshop this image, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
I understand a request like this can take a lot of time and effort so I will completely understand if I receive no offers. I thought I would try! This image is originally in RAW format and I had to compress it for this post, but please let me know if/how I can send the original file (I have a flickr account too). If you need any other images (I have quite a few of the same shot from a slightly different angle) please let me know.
Thanks and hope to hear from some of you soon!
Kind regards!
This one was too hard to describe by text, so I made a quick video.

Hello PSGs!
I was wondering if there were any techies out there that could answer a question for me.
I'm retouching with CC on a superpowered Mac at school. I don't do video or 3D editing, just compositing, beauty retouching, etc. (tons of layers but nothing too insane). Most of the files I'm working on are full sized 23mp images at 16bit, and I also work on large (up to 1GB) scans (tiffs from fff files).
I'm buying a 27" (non-Retina/5K) iMac for home use, and was wondering if anybody knew if there was a real performance issue with the storage (it comes standard with Serial ATA 1TB but I was considering upgrading to 512GB flash instead) once you're inside the program, or does the difference mainly translate to faster start-up and opening applications? Has anyone on here upgraded and noticed a difference?
I've read about a zillion forums and talked to multiples salespeople but I am hoping for PHOTOSHOP users specific direct experience. If it takes a second or two longer to open CC I don't care about that, and I'd rather invest the $500 upgrade fee somewhere else.
As it is I'm upgrading from 3.4/i5 to 3.5GHz i7, upgrading the Graphics card from 2GB to 4GB and upgrading the RAM to 16GB. Does anybody with direct experience know if that extra $500 for the upgrade to the flash storage is going to translate into much more than a quicker launch?
I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong area, I'm new to the forums but excited to join!
Thanks!
