Help With Stone Text And Breaking Of Stone..

What a great forum! I'm a photoshopper for several years now, and today i saw an event/announcement design on Facebook and i want to know how they call the effect that used on the person's image.

i saw this effect before, i thought that someone dit this by hand. But this looks like a photoshop action.

As you know or may not know, tomorrow is the 100th commemoration of the Armenian genocide.
Special for that I was making a cover and got this as a result.

I'm already happy with the results since I most certainly am an amateur.
You guys have any idea what else I could do to get a better effect? Maybe a more dark and serious effect, you understand?

hi guys! reserved here! i just recently started up a new MLG Team for my Gaming Community XGC "Xiled Gaming Community" my team consists of some of the best players within xgc and we need a logo, so i was wondering if someone would be awesome enough to make one for me?

if you decide to what id like is rather simple for right now, all i want is to have like a 3D style text maybe with the first text "XG" in bold and the color to be yellow, now i want all the text to be diagonal starting from the bottom left to the top right if possible. then right under that text i want "Xiled Gamers" same text same color. then behind all the text i was like a shattered glass effect right where the "XG" is going across the whole thing if possible. if someone could do this for me, my whole team and i will be forever grateful!

NOTE: All 3 samples are Kindle Erotica Book Covers. I couldn't find any non-erotica cover image.

Question - I want to create a simple Kindle Book Cover (that is, front side only) like the cover images posted below. I just want to know how to create the Text Effect. That is, how to create the Transparent (or opaque) bar and how to create the following text effects, both Title and Author Name Are the fonts or simple effects? Please help.
