Grain In Pic.

Hey everyone.and especially those who have helped in me the past..this is one of the shots i have taken last or so.

In photoshop it looks good..but when converting to SRGB and save it as JPG (save for web) and viewing it on screen, some colors in area seems to be have been lost. You can see the beam of light in right and other areas.

I have tried different solutions to prevent it, but it ends up with somehow the same result.

Any tip? This problem can occur in low light shots as i have understood. I need this pic to be more clean.

Raw To Jpeg Much Darker Conversion.

Hey Guys,

I am a freelance Photographer who primarily shoots night events (shows, clubs, etc.) and I am having some issues with my images coming out darker when I save them as JPEGS. I am shooting with a Canon 60D (Adobe RGB) and at the moment editing the photos in the Adobe RAW Editor (Adobe RGB). When I am editing the photos in the RAW Editor they appear to be in 24bit, but when I save them as JPEG (Adobe RGB) they appear to be more like 32bit (much much darker). Any ideas as to why this is happening? I would really just like the finished product to be what I'm seeing in my RAW Editor.

---> Side note, I just realized the images are only darker when viewing them through Windows Photo Viewer and Facebook (where the photos will primarily be housed). Does anyone know why the images are vastly darker when viewed through these applications? This is definitely a viewer problem. So how can I make my images look how they are supposed to while using things like Facebook?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

The first screenshot of the image in the RAW Editor, the second of the JPEG in Widows Photo Viewer.

***UPDATE***

None of my replies appear to be going through so I'll just post them here. Before posting this thread I attempted to save them as sRGB but it still had the same affect. I also just tried Steve's Save for Web method and have the same issue.

I believe I am saving them properly as JPGs (I will supply a screen shot in this post). MrTom, when I say 32bit what I meant was if you are editing an image in Photoshop and you change the color mode from 8bit to 32bit, it looks similar to the drastic darkness as seen with 32bit.

A mini solution I have discovered is to +70 the Black levels, this evens out the photos to roughly what I was going for once they save. I would greatly prefer an actual fix, but this will do if all else fails.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Mega Exhibition Displays/ Billboards. Best Workflow?

Hi Photoshop Gurus

I have been working on a billboard 414cm x 230cm and i have on 4000x6000pix image from a fullframe canon 5dmkii filling up the whole billboard.

What is the best way to save the image for billboard printing + preserve vector lines and text on top of the image?

(i have worked with the plugin perfect resize to scale up but don't like the results)

Now i make a psd. 1to10 (all smartobjects) and then save it as 3000dpi instead of 300dpi so the file is 10 times as big when printed and therefore full size. This way make the pdf's much smaller instead of making 1to1 resolution then i have to save as tiff since the file is over 2gb (can't save as pdf when to big) and the result is actually not as good as the pdf when i review the exports.. + 1to1 is very slow to work with since the files turn into 8gb psb and can be saving/loading for 30-60min sometimes.

<b>Would like to hear your opinion on this billboard printing? What is the best method to get your design from screen to 414cm x 230cm billboard without any bad surprises in the printing.
</b>

The printing company wants the file in TIFF, psd, pdf,ai. My impression if pdf work with everyone so prefer to go with that, of no benefit with other formats.

I Can Really Hate Ps Sometimes...

Just done a substantial amount of work on a particular project which called for a PDF file.
No probs...File > Save As > Sweet as...
Back to original PSD file...
Edit...
Edit...
Save...
Edit...
Edit...
Save...Hang on!
Why is photoshop saving as PDF?
Save As...(PSD)
Bam!
All Layers gone.
One flattened PSD file.
Thanks Adobe....NOT!

I read the warning about saving as PDF too......it said it CAN change the Save As settings in the Save As dialog...
...Didn't say it bloody well would!

Why does it do that? Why change the settings? Just what is Adobe on? Can I have some? Please.

Lesson learnt on that one....but what a stoooooopid thing to do!

Confusing Images, I Cannot Tell If They're Real Or Not

Hello! I am new to this forum and signed up for the specific purpose to get expert advice.

I am doing research on a project and was wondering if anyone can tell me if these two images can possibly be manipulated images. I used to work with Photoshop, but it's been over 10 years now. I know the technology has come a long way so its hard to decipher what is real and what is not real. These are screen shots, because I am new, I cannot post a link yet.

Thanks you!

I Have 60 Pictures Of The Same Object But The Light And The Color Varies Between Them

I'm taking pictures of a product 360 degrees and noticed small variations of light and color and want to equalize between all images.
I do not want to apply the same effect at all, so I do know the Automate.
I want to adjust all the photos based on a standard photo with adjustable pre-defined levels and colors.
If you can do this with a batch command would be better.

See the three images has a small variation in the light which can be seen in the background of the image. I want to equalize it between all images.

Sorry my english, I'm from Brazil.

Thank you

Light Effects Blended On White

Hello everyone,
I have a very big issue that I don't know how to sort out.
I'm creating some mockups of some fashion products and I'm planning to use some "light strokes" effects.
Usually you achieve this blending some light strokes on a black background on using "Multiply" etc. on an image that has a dark background [in this way the black background of the light strokes disappears]. I tried to do this on backgrounds more "clear" but the light strokes cannot be seen [same for flames or whatever is "light"].
Does someone know how to blend light on white?
Thank you very much in advance!

Post Production Portraits

There is this photographer who's work I really love. He does a lot of portrait shots for actors, but I'm not sure where to start. Obviously uses a sharp lens, but the main thing seems to be lighting and post production.

Here is his website: Headshots NYC: David Noles New York City Headshots for Actors

It looks like he uses layering in Photoshop, but I'm extremely new to portraits. The colors look faded but the eyes pop out, so I'm guessing use of the the RGB curve and RGB individual color curves are involved, along with an adjustment brush. Any pointers/examples?

Saving Transparent

Hello,
I am still in the learning mode with Photoshop. I've run across something I am clueless about. How to save a transparent png or gif. I saved it like I do in PSP but when I posted it on another forum, it has a black background. Can you explain to me how to save it transparent the right way?

Thanks-

Tips Of Proofing For A Photobook

hi all

after cramming photoshop study over the last 2 years ive gone back into photography , purchasing a nikon d7100 , 55-300, 18-55,11-16 tokina and a 50mm 1.8 i can cover most shots

im doing a 52 shot challenge to themes given on a nikon forum , im going one step further and doing these relating to golf as my son is looking too turn pro this year and we are both sacrificing a lot to try to live the dream

his coach since he was 15 has never charged him and he believes he can play and win a british open one day , he is 24 now and after 5 year layoff where he went partying and didnt play golf he is back better then ever , training hard over the last 12 months , no drinkning smoking drugs or ******** for either of us

so we travel up to 1500 klm per week to compete , talking about the photography themes he suggested we put the photos into a photobook for his coach for xmas , so far i have four shot themes completed and 48 to go buy ill get plenty soon

my question is what are the tricks and tips for proofing for print in photobooks , what ive done is use select proof color , tick gamut warning and get rid of the grey areas by lowering vibrance exposure etc etc , i also tick shop simulat paper color in custom proof set up and the rendering intent is set to perceptual , not doing much printing any advice would be great , i want them to have punch and not look washed out heres the shots so far and themes used which are named in file

Choosing A Versatile Color Space For Color Correction

Hi everybody,
I'l like just to ask what do ypu suggest about choosing a versatile Color Space for Color Correction for these actual times in witch we have the necessity to deliver a lot of graphic asset formats (for Web and Print and Video...).
So,we should be work in Photoshop, to make Color Correction, assign a good Color profile (color space) as standard sRGB, or better, with Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGA as top quality.
Only the end, if we are ready with CC process, we should save some different .psd file versions as CMYK (for print issue), Rec. 709, (if we have to use photo in video), sRBG for web.
Is it a good choice/workflow, or I'm wrong...?

Many thanks for a reply!

Cheers
