does anyone know how I implement the black strip on on this flag in the attached photo?
See attached image for reference. I'm trying to remove the black from a full color smart object illustration so then I can have another layer which has just black part so I can offset it and have its own texture to it. I need this to be non-destructive so that it can be used with any illustration. When I use the blending option sliders I'm left with a thin black like around the edge of the black. If I move the sliders any further the blue starts to disappear.
Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you need any more info.

I have a load of images that I have been given by a manufacturer, some have white backgrounds and are great. Others, have a black background..and are not great. I am needing to edit these black background images to be like the white background images.
You'll notice for the product (attached images) that there is packaging immediately around the yellow string. It's this bit that I am finding incredibly hard to change from the blackish colour to the whitish colour, shown in the picture with the white background.
Does anyone have any ideas please how I can change this black area to be like the 'good' photo? Any help is greatly appreciated.
The attached picture is the black silhouette of a bass with transparent background (on its layer) but when I isolated it and did a background eraser a remnant of gray outline remains in many areas of the picture (this can be seen by turning on the black layer also in the file). I have tried to do additional color eraser to no avail. Can someone help me get this gray gone and leave only the black on the layer. I would like to know what tools and techniques you use as well. Your help is appreciated.
Heck I cant get the .psd to attach so I added i made examples below the first with the outline and transparent background looks good but when you put it on a black background (image2) you see the outlines in gray that I want to get rid of or turn black. Either way the goal would be when I turn on the black background the fish should disappear.
Thanks,
Dino
Hello Everyone!
I have been having a difficult time turning a rectangular strip into a semicircle to make a seamless whole. So far I have used a circle as a guide and warped & puppet warped the strip. My results have been less than satisfactory. I was wondering if there is a better way? I am using CS5. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
I can't for the life of me get the black stripe like on the image below onto my file. Can someone help me with this? I can't seem to upload my .psd file.
Hi,
Today I saw a picture that looks different on black background and on white. There is an example attached. Does anybody knows how to do this? I found an explanation on the link below, but doesn't worked for me (when I create the subtract layer, it doesn't result on a transparency layer):
graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/9088/image-that-looks-different-on-black-background-and-on-white
All I know is that the final image must be a PNG file, with transparency on it... But don't know how to merge the two images to get the effect of different images depending on the background color (black or white).
Can anybody help me to understand that effect?
This is probably an easily solved question as it was something I used to have set before I format my laptop and lost my preferences but here it is..
Before format, when I would apply the Black and White adjustment, my paint brush or pencil tool would automatically pencil/brush colour into the photo, now it doesn't and I can't seem to figure out how to revert it back to how it was. I've Googled it and can't seem to find what I'm looking for, although I think I may be just wording it wrong.
So, as below..
On these pictures I just applied black and white adjustment, hit paint brush or pencil tool and it'd inject colour in to the image, I can't seem to get that to happen anymore.
As I mentioned, someone will probably solve this really quickly.
Appreciate any help you can give.
i was touching up and image and i must have clicked something because my colored image turned black and white, the mode is set to RGB Color so i dont know what to do I tried to undo it and it didnt work. when i saved it as a JPEG it showed it in color but the image in photoshop is still black and white. help!
Guys, I could use your input. I created the attached poster for a sports ministry at church. I like my idea (taking my Bible verse and making it a double meaning), but what I am uncertain about are the colors. Because the design contains silhouettes, naturally I used black and white. However, can a black and white poster attract church members' attention on a bulletin board? I like simplicity, not sure about others. Can you please let me know if you would recommend that I color this poster in any other way? Feel free to color this and show me what you've done. Please, I really need your opinion. I have never done this before.
Why is it that when i paint with my brush i get a black surrounding shadow ?
(I have pointed the white arrow on tat portion)
