Hi guys!
I enjoy editing character artworks eventually with Paint.net by manipulating pixels but there is only so much I can do. I did the left guy by only copy/pasting in multiple layers and by realocating and cleaning pixels.
I usually get stuck when I need to recolor something. I'd like to know how you guys would
1. recolor the forearm so it matches the face skin color
2. change the brown portion of the crotch area so it matches the gray paint of the pants
I suppose 1 is easier, Lasso Select+Hue/Saturation? I would still like to know how you guys would do it.
2 is trickier, I have no idea how to do it
Thanks!
I want to change orange color to red color.
I use Magic Wand Tool to select orange color and Paint Bucket Tool.
But edges not smooth.
Can anyone suggest me the best way to change color ?
Thank you
Hi,
So I do this as a favor to a friend... His mother was painted when young. The painting was abused, and all the mother was left with was a black-and-white photo of the painting.
I tried to add color by making selections, and adding masked layers of solid color blended as "soft light", but the result is not good, maybe you can help me improve it...
Problems I see:
1. Abuse caused no details for the lower part (hands). I had to guess the hands position based on her right thumb and the belt, but there is no outline for the hands. Should I cut the lower part from the image, or maybe paint an outline for the hands (and if so, what is the easiest non-destructive way if I already have a path and a selection for the hands)? I know I need to fix the selection as at least the left palm is too big...
2. The seperation between the colors I added is too sharp, can I use some non-destructive filter or should I use "refine mask" on my masks and what to change? or maybe something else to blur the edges?
3. The belt is there but doesn't look real. Maybe I need to enhance the blacks (contrast) on the BW image, or maybe paint an outline of it? I have a selection and a path for belt.
4. Anything else?... This project was really above my head most of the times... Oh I now see I missed the lips...
I attach both the B&W pic of the painting, and my attempt to restore color to it.
Thanks for any help,
raananh
About to paint inside the house and I just tried a yellow I do not like... Before I go blow more money on paint I dont like, can someone please edit a couple pictures to give me a vague idea what it will look like. Attached are two marked up pictures with W, G, B; White, Gray and Beige. This painting thing is driving me nuts! I also attached two clean pictures without being marked up. Thanks in advance!
I've noticed that I get a good flow painting over a textured canvas (blank canvases are not for me) when doing so I work with a brush with the opacity set to about 45 and two layers, the bg textures and the actual image.
When I feel I'm done with my sketch I want to exclude the bg layer but still use the texture seen through the actual image i.e. I want to select all pixels in the top layer, merge this with the bg texture and then cut it out.
I've tried a couple of techniques (incl. ctrl + click on the layer icon) but not found any technique that selects _all pixels_ in a layer without me having to manually add some here and there.
Anyone have a clue how to?

Many thanks in advance.

Hey All,
First time post he
I'm using Photoshop CS6, trying to make a selection using a quick mask and a brush. Normally I would put the quick mask on, paint in my selection using a brush preset and then turn off the mask, invert the selection, and use refine selection to make it a new layer.
Now when I turn off the mask, I get the error "no pixels are more than 50% selected". I've seen on other forums that feathering can be a problem, but as far as I know the brush preset I'm using has no feathering. In fact, I just reset the tools and tried again and it still gives me that error. I've definitely selected the correct layer because there's only one to select.
Any advice?
Thanks! M
Hi,
I have many images that I would like to crop, the cropping will be all the same for all images, 24 pixels will be cropped from the bottom, 131 pixels will be cropped from the top and 19 pixels will be cropped from the left, is it possible to create a marco or maybe that will automatically repeat this process for me, without having to do the cropping for each image which is currently takes time going through the same process.
Thank you
I am going to re-paint my motorcycle and I dont know which color I should color it. Thats why I am looking for a person with some color-eye which can help me decide the color. I will pay 30$ for the best image. I want to color the wheels, plastic parts (idk. The name in English but the "Covers") and the metal parts bars etc. Ofc. You can also edit other parts which you think would
Hi guys,
My friend is awfully shy and his birthday's coming up soon
I would love it if you could change this one picture I found to something incredible
Would love it if you guys changed everything such as background , however please make his face recognizable! You can change his face up but please make him recognizable. Also if you could get rid of moles it would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!
Hey guys! This is my first post but I'm stuck. I've been editing with Photoshop for a while and can normally get my way through any issue I've had. But not so with this. I have the attached image that I like but I want to remove the words that are spray painted on the wall. Basically I want to keep the blue background but make it still look faded and like spray painted brick.
I don't want someone to edit this photo for me, just give me an idea as to how to accomplish this. I've tried the color replacement tool as well as the color replacement adjustment. I've also tried the clone stamp and pattern stamp tools. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Hi,
1st post in here so here goes with my cherry ..... be kind
I've been using Gimp for a while so not totally green but certainly not strong in the "Editing Department" and have just switched to CS6
I always have a problem trying to replace skies where there's not a clear distinction between sky and ground and where there's a ground mist or sea mist but appreciate the software is also struggling as it's not that clear and wonder if anyone has any better / easier ways than I've tried so far.
Here is the one I've struggled with
I've tried using colour range as well as the quick selection tool and the magic wand tool and the magnetic lasso. the quick selection tool would be the easiest but as I drag from left ti right it starts off fine and then all of a sudden as the sky darkens it suddenly gobbles up the sea with it and goes straight to the land. The Magic Wand takes ages as I start with one tolerance and then change accordingly to reduce the tolerance going from left to right, The Magnetic lasso I had a reasonable amount of success dividing between the land and sea but when I then try to do the straight vertical lines either side and the horizontal along the top despite being outside of the frame it creates a jagged line that keeps dropping down into the sky in places.
Any help would be appreciated but please be aware my understanding of some "jargon" goes waaaaaayyyyyy over my head, I can copy how people are doing it in you tube vids parrot fashion but I often have absolutely no comprehension what it means nor how one interacts with the other.... ie layers, masks etc
Actually if anyone knows of good spoon fed tutorials for those would appreciate as I really am struggling to get my head round them.
