Removal Of Background In An Image

Hey all,

I'm new and thought I would join when I realised I'm not as good at Photoshop than I thought!

I have an image and I'd like to remove the background. I've tried using the selection tools and rubbers but when I'm done it looks like someone a 5 year old has done it. In fact they would do a better job!

I've attached the image

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that could help.

Thank you!
Ben

Removing Graphics And Other Effects From The Image Of A Map.

I am very new to Photoshop. I have attached an image of a map.

I would like to remove all of the markers and other things in the image. Ideally I would like to be left with just the map itself. No background or anything like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to learn through a hands-on approach. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Please Help With Editing A Background

Hello all,

An intermediate Photoshop user here... Please see the attached image.

How can I make the yellowish background more equal in color? I mean, how can I make it fairly the same color, get rid of the brighter and darker portions? Tried everything I know, no real success. Cannot use the clone stamp tool, there are also graphics (the little stars), will take ages if even possible.

How would you do it? Is there some kind of magic button?

I have also attached the psd file... (diffrent image, not the one shown below, same problem)

Request For Assistance To Create An Action

Hi All,

Request for assistance to create an action in Photoshop cs6 to Batch Change image background to white.

I need to batch convert high resolution product images through layer/vector mask +/or channels without using the selection tools.

Have tried to create white background layer and place original image made transparent behind ,but did not work for me.

If you can show the way for this or create and upload link to it,that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Image That Looks Different On Black Background And On White

Hi,

Today I saw a picture that looks different on black background and on white. There is an example attached. Does anybody knows how to do this? I found an explanation on the link below, but doesn't worked for me (when I create the subtract layer, it doesn't result on a transparency layer):

graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/9088/image-that-looks-different-on-black-background-and-on-white

All I know is that the final image must be a PNG file, with transparency on it... But don't know how to merge the two images to get the effect of different images depending on the background color (black or white).

Can anybody help me to understand that effect?

Google Earth Image Overlay

Hi People,

Okay, on google earth you have the option to overlay images onto areas of the planet. For me this is useful to see where a cave runs in respect to the overlying land above. It gives you the option to change the Opacity of the overlain image to show more image or more 'earth', which is nice. However I got to thinking and decided to try and remove all the background white of the survey, then overlay it giving a clearer image of the surrounding land. Unfortunately I end up with the the deleted white showing as brickwork (I understand its to show what is gone and whats left in Photoshop) when I overlay to google earth.

My current survey is a TIFF file.

So is it possible to save an edited image in a file type that when overlain wont show the brick image you get on Photoshop of deleted background.
Is there a file type that can achieve this, and if so what is it?

Thanks in advance

Joe

Revealing Part Of An Underneath Layer

Hello again,

I'm editing an image and I've spent lots of time refining the details. I had to grab the image from a background and it did not leave so easily, at least for me, but I've gotten passed that. I'm now doing some finishing touches. There's some small parts of the image that lost detail in the transfer from backgrounds and some of it got muddy in areas as well. I am wondering what the best way to take individual parts of the image and put them in place underneath the edited image so that when I erase everything the quality piece of the image is revealed.

Thanks,

J

Maximize Quality/minimize Size

Hello,

I am completely new to this forum so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place. I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and have a question regarding file size/quality. So, here it goes.

I am currently working on publication that requires all downloaded photos to be uploaded to a website that has a max file size of 20 mb. When I download an image to use for a background (some sort of a pattern that is normally somewhere around 800 x 800 size) the image is about 180 kb which is perfect. Unfortunately, the image has a poor ppi resolution and prints extremely blurry so in photoshop under image size, I increase the resolution so that the file size & resolution is bigger. This takes a lot of guessing on my part.

For example, if I increased the image resolution to 100000000 ppi, the file size would end up way over 20 mb which does me no good. So what I am wondering is, is if there is a way to optimize the the resolution of the image, given the file size limitations, without all of the guess and check?

If this looks confusing, I apologize and will gladly explain more. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How To Remove White Space Around An Image

Hi Guys,

I am sure this is a really simple thing to do and I thought that saving the image as a PNG was the answer.

I am trying to customise the folder icons in the dock on my iMac as show in the image below. However, as you can see I get white space around the edges and I thought that saving it as a PNG would avoid this.

Can anyone advise what I need to do.

[request] Can Somebody Remove The Background Of This Picture?
