Hello all, I am new to this group. I've had an illustration produced for a client. It was rather complex so decision was made to make it tonally very similar. All well and good, however client has shared it with his customers and the comment came back that it was a bit flat. Client said change it to blue... but we all know that won't really change it - just make it blue and flat. Client budget is spent but I just wondered if there was something whizzy that could be done to add some zing to the illustration by someone with Photoshop expertise. Maybe add some kind of filter around the window frames? I have attached a low-res screen grab - really keen to hear any thoughts sharings this groups of gurus has;) CheerioJulesbunny
See attached image for reference. I'm trying to remove the black from a full color smart object illustration so then I can have another layer which has just black part so I can offset it and have its own texture to it. I need this to be non-destructive so that it can be used with any illustration. When I use the blending option sliders I'm left with a thin black like around the edge of the black. If I move the sliders any further the blue starts to disappear.
Hope that makes sense. Please let me know if you need any more info.

Hey guys, another question to put out there.
Been in graphic design for a couple of years but never had that much of an educated background in the field so I often have questions concerning techniques / methods.
I was wondering if you guys could give me a bit of an idea as to how this sort of image would be replicated / produced in the first place.
I assume the artist worked from photographs to create the illustrations. Would these have more likely been hand drawn on paper and scanned in or done using an illustration tablet - or is it just too hard / impossible to say?
I have some illustrator experience but not as much as photoshop, always wondered about methods employed to create this sort of result.
Thanks in advance,
J
Hello I am new to this forum and I joined because I need help, I am not very good with Photoshop but I am learning. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who could help me make a logo? I tried to make my own (see below) but to me it just feels boring and flat... TGE stands for The Gaming Elite and is a Steam group for people who like to play CS:GO. I would really appreciate any help with this and it doesnt need to look like the one I made you can go crazy when suggesting ideas Thank you for your time.
Hey guys! I just got back into photoshop and I am a little rusty, and wondered if anyone could help me with these effects
Edit: Do any of you guys know how to make the blue and pink lines? been struggling for a while now :s
Hi Everyone!
I've been using Ps on and of for a few years now as a hobby so I'm somewhat able to find my way around it.
Now for the actual question:
Why would you include paths in a jpeg?
Moreover why split it into several paths? I have a vague memory of paths beeing able to render for example a background transparent in say illustrator. Can that be it?
My reason for asking is that I work as a Digitalprinter operator and we have got a client that wants us to mask out objects in pictures and also in som cases separate them into paths.
I have got some suggestions that you could use paths in a layout program to make text flow around the path. However this seems strange in the examples I have got.
I've scaled down the example we got from the client and can post link to it after five post . Hopfully someone can send me an pm and help me out with this.
Meanwhile I'll go post somewhere until I can add the link accourding to the rules.
Thank you for your time.
Hi gif smarties!
I am using the animation feature in Photoshop CS5. Im rotoscoping by tracing footage that has been imported to layers. The traced frames are on their own separate layers. Im keeping my workload, per file, to 60 frames (120 layers total). I tried to make a file that was 70 frames instead (140 layers). Now every time I open the animation window, the layers go crazy and the traced layers are moved, uncolored, and generally all weird and wrong. I tried copying the file and breaking it into 2 files of 35 frames each (70 layers) but the damage seems to be done. Opening the animation window screws with the frames. Is there a fix for this or do I simply have to keep files to <60 in the future?
halp halp!
Hi, so I have the logo below and I want to animate it for my website so that the dial "revs" up and down. There is a bit of an issue regarding the perspective (it's not flat) that makes it tough for me to just do a simple rotation. But I wanted to get some advice and see if you guys know of the best way to create this kind of an animation.
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: Uploaded image instead of link
I'm freelancer, and I'm working on jewelry retouch.
I wish to reach high level in this field, but I see all you tube lessons in this field and some from Lynda sit, but still can't find all I needs.
So I need your help in 2 important things:
First and fast:
How can I retouch diamond and keep it pop up and realistic , when I make sharpen ( smart or un_sharp mask ) the diamond become bluer and fade As you see in the image I have attached , I know the source photo not good, but this is the challenge, many client give me bad photos to make it WOW
Second: I need advanced free courses or lessons , to lean me how can I make advanced level jewlery retouch.
I wish I find some one help me here as I'm new and really need help badly.
Thank you very much
Hi all
Is there a way to follow the steps that happen when I choose a particular filter so I could make it by myself?
I use the 'plastic wrap' filter but I want to change several components that are made automatically and I do not want all of them.
thanks.
(Basically I take white lines on a black background and use the 'Plastic warp' filter, it thickens the lines and changes the texture and that's good for me - but it adds a bright spot behind the lines, which I do not want because I need it in a separate layer).
It might be that I am tired and something just isn't sticking in the tutorials that I have watched but I have tried like crazy to mask out the hair in the attached pic. The client wants to change the color of the hair in this pic to a dark green and the skin tone to be more pail with a very slight green tint. The area on the shirt is giving me the biggest issues, any suggestions on making this work? I have watched a couple youtube tutorials on doing this quick but just cant get the desired result.
Thanks!
