Hey again guys!
Just wondering if anyone could advise here. Been mucking around with halftones today, saw this image posted somewhere previously with the author claiming it was a halftone. From my understanding the halftone patterns look more "honeycomby", made up of lots of gridded dots - this to me looks a lot more abstract, more subtle, maybe a bit noisy and I kind of prefer it. The subject matter here is crumpled paper if that helps - but I'm at a loss to figuring out what's going on here.
Higher contrast and halftone filter?
Thanks in advance all
How can I create a custom halftone screen? I have tried to define a pattern and use that, and have over layed a pattern with hard-mix but I cannot seem to get as clear results as these. Any help would be appreciated.
hello,
let's say I have a picture like this :
and I want to make a model or a map or something which allow me to apply different patterns easily to make the following image of that by applying pattern:
I think I need to make a 3d model or something which allow me to apply the patterns correctly according to the orientation and other factors.
How should I do that?
Thanks
Probably a bad subject title so let me explain what I am trying to do.
I have a very basic image (screenshot 1). Trust me, this is not an exercise but similar to the image I will be using,ha!
I select each white circle and using smart erase I can erase each circle (screenshot 2) but I want a feathered/gradient effect like (screenshot 3).
Then when I add a background color it gives the effect I am after (screenshot 4).
So here is the issue - Each image will have 100's of white dots and they will be random on each image (sort of like a star field would be a good comparison). So I need to find a way to perform the same procedure all at once on all the dots (preferred way I would think), sort of like using smart erasure but with a feather effect, or need to create an "action" that will do that.
So I guess my questions a
1. Can one create a gradient that goes from "eraser-to-black", and then save it as a mask? (to use for question 2)
2. or perform the same task on each selected spot at the same time using a mask or
3. If I need to create an "action" for this how would one move from one spot to the next to perform the task on each spot?
Since I am new here I am beginning to search through the massive forums here but thought I would throw this out will I keep searching. Thanks so much.

Hi guys,
I really love the sharpness/high quality of images and now I got a MacBook Retina I can see the details even more. I was wondering when starting a "New file", if the values of "Resolution" has an impact on the eventual quality of the image? If so, what are the best values to put here?
Looking forward to your replies, please help me get a better understanding of this.
Look at this image very very carefully . JUST THE BACKGROUND , what u see first is that is that the designer has applied a gradient , which is very very effective , but what makes this picture look so professional is if you look a bit deeper or zoom in you will see a few shapes , that really make this image look awesome , my question is what tool was used to make that , or how did the designer make that at all , i need to implement the same in one of my coming up projects , so pls help me . Thank you.
Regards .

Hello! Very much so a noob question . ive done my research and im just here for a very definite tutorial . im learning how to resize images from Big to small. Only problem is i cant seem to keep the high quality resolution . Ive included both images .. the "moonshine" collage is what id like to minimize. The "Whiskey" image is able to be downsized with no resolution loss when i downsize why? ID also like to keep them PNG or transparent in the background .
the moonshine collage image is one i made in photoshop cs6.
id like to make them W:280 pixels H:110 pixels/100 pixels
Theres a screen shot of the photo in place . The GREEN image is the image in low resolution , which i cannot figure why . the other RED image is how id like all my images to appear . There both pretty big original images as well ..
Hi,
Perhaps is a small introduction for a newbie on this forum (like me) a good idea:
I'm a Beglian chemical engineering student and I'm building my first website, but
unfortunately I've stumbled upon a BIG problem.
Like you can see, I use a picture as a background: a paper "glued" to a a wall.
This paper is a little bit opaque (the texture and color of the wall is visible through the paper).
But here is the problem: I'm bounded to the length of this paper. I can't write longer texts than the length of the paper.
Here you can see the problem: Slalom
The bottom part of the text falls out of (actually below) the paper.
Luckily I have found the perfect solution for the problem. But for this I need to remove paper and the scotch tape from the picture.
And that's where I really need your help. This kind of editing is completely beyond my reach.
I did not think about this during the designing phase, so now I'm really stuck with this problem.
By the way: you will notice that the website is not finished yet.
Hello to PGurus! This my 1st Post & I am thankful for the resource(s) offered here!
My ?: I have MacBook Pro Ver. 10.6.8 w/ 8 gig RAM. The filter " Fractalius " only works on Windows. They will not make a Mac Version. So, can I run Photoshop CS-5 Extended through VirtualBox Ver. 4.16 software with XP on it (which I already have used to run Microsoft "Access" DataBase software), and be able to use this filter for my projects? Or is there any better way to achieve the same result? Thank You for your advice.
Hey guys,
So I'm a rather new music producer and I make some wallpapers for my tracks using Photoshop and then put some effects in there using Adobe After Effects.
So I usually just use either a gradient or an image in there, but it's rather hard to find images without copyright that look good and fit the track title.
And gradients kinda look boring (just a few colors that overflow).
So I was wondering how people make these kind of backgrounds:
(quality kinda sucks because I had it on 480p by accident, but you get the point)
Or a bit different style like this:
Or this:
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I know the "READ ME BEFORE POSTING" thread clearly said "rather use img tags instead of linking to external websites" but it kept saying that I exceeded my tags by 20. So yeah, changed it into this. If anyone wants me to upload it to Imgur or something instead I'll do that.
Hello all,
I'm a bit of a PS newbie, but I was wondering, is it possible to add a custom Pattern to use for Outerglow?
For instance, if there was a specific pattern, let's call it a polka dot pattern that I have custom created, is it possible to somehow import this into Outerglow and select this?
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance!
