Outlining A Layer/item With Vector Based Image?

Hi guys,

Forgive me as I'm still learning the terminology used in Photoshop. So here's what I'm trying to do. I want to snap a bicycle chain to the work path I created around a logo. Basically have a bicycle chain bend and maneuver it's way around the whole outside of this logo which is it's own layer. So far all I've been able to do is get it to reveal the bike chain using a brush with a pattern I created. I can't actually bend the bike chain or have it follow the path. The pattern I made is made up of multiple links in the chain, and is a fairly sizable image, should I just go for one link in the chain and make it much smaller, and then try it again?

Thanks for any help!

Help With Rasterizing A Layer

Hi!

I'm having this problem since I upgraded to Photoshop CC.

This logo is made with a Brush preset that I created when I was using Photoshop CS6, but now that I'm using photoshop CC, when I use the "Drop Shadow" option and I rasterize the layer, the shadow fixes itself into something that I don't want, I've tried a lot of things, but just can't make it look correctly.

The first picture shows the logo with the effect before rasterizing, and the second photo is after rasterizing.

Question On Vector Mask Functionality

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to Photoshop CS 5 so I apologize if I am asking the wrong type of questions, here goes:

When working with Vector Masks can you:
1) "Link" or "share" one image's vector mask with other images? (ex. If I made "Building A" then duplicated it, but then wanted to change what Building A looked like, I would only have to change the source mask and the copies would be updated.
2) Move the image independent of the vector mask (it seems like I can only move the vector mask, not the image itself). Or in other words: can I move the image and have the mask follow it, instead of only being able to move the vector mask inside of the image boundaries?

My application of the question:
I'm making a 2D top down layout of a "city block" type area. To fill in the buildings, I've made Building A,B,C etc, and use multiple copies of each building. Ideally, I would like to be able to "link" or share say Building A's vector mask with all the other instances of Building A (so that when I change the master, they all change to the new mask shape). The second behavior I'm trying to find is the ability to move the layer without moving where the Vector Mask is on that layer (since it seems that you can only move where the mask is, meaning that even if I could share masks, they would all end up in the same place meaning I would have to re-position each one by hand again.

Any ideas are appreciated, thank you for reading.

Help: Paths Do Not Like To Line Up With Photo

So I have this logo I have been working on (first image)
But when I select the layer then add the path in the paths tab I get a messed up path outline. (Second Image)

I know I could just use the pen tool but that seems to be too much work. I was wanting to know if there was an easier way to do this. I have Ai if there is something there that could help me out. Thanks!

Request For Assistance To Create An Action

Hi All,

Request for assistance to create an action in Photoshop cs6 to Batch Change image background to white.

I need to batch convert high resolution product images through layer/vector mask +/or channels without using the selection tools.

Have tried to create white background layer and place original image made transparent behind ,but did not work for me.

If you can show the way for this or create and upload link to it,that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

A Huge Favour? - Psd > Vector (free Request)

Hi Everyone,

I created a PSD logo and "Icon" for my upcoming clothing brand - (Brand Removed).

Upon printing my first T-Shirt, I have been told that my logo must be Vector to be able to work with Vinyl materials. The only problem is, is that I don't have inDesign, and have never used it myself before. I have a very short deadline and I am not in a position to pay for this being done anytime soon.

By any chance, could someone please convert my T-Shirt print into Vector? Bellow is my Icon that I would like converting on the T-Shirt:

The Icon, and not the image and T-Shirt it's self.
Brand Image Removed

If this is something someone can do for me, I have the PSD file and a PNG fine at around 1200pixels of the original icon.

Kind Regards,
UKFashion.

Image Placement And Layering..

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to properly layer an image for the best effect.

For example, I have my guy he

I'd like to put our logo literally behind him to take the place of the door and imagery in the background of his picture. Here is the logo:

I know I could do a combiation of the magic tool/cut tool and erasing to get the background imagery out the way but is there a shorter/better way to get the logo behind just his face, neck and shoulders???

Any help would be appreciated guys.

Thanks a bunch!!

How Can I Use Multiple Overlay Effects Simultaneously In Photoshop?

There are 3 overlay effects available in Photoshop as layer styles: Color, Gradient and Pattern. The problem: these effects come in a strictly fixed order!

Is it possible to make a translucent Gradient Overlay over a Color Overlay using only layer styles? Or a Multiply Pattern and Color Overlays?

Copying Layer Masks Into Colour Channels? Also Is This A Bug?

Hi all!
We're using photoshop to prepare assets for a game engine, and i'm trying to find a good workflow, which i can then teach to my artist.
At this point, i have an image with five layers. 12345

Layers 2-5 each have a layer mask on them.

Now what i want to do is, copy the layer mask of layer 2, and paste it into the Red colour channel of layer 1
then mask of layer 3 into the green channel of layer 1
layer 4 into the blue channel
and layer 5 into the alpha channel

So the result is that the channels of that layer will each look identical to the layer masks, and thus layer 1 will look like a wierd (but programatically meaningful) mishmash of colours.

I'm having some problems though.

Apologies for the massive image.
This is the green channel that i've gained from the above procedure. The big gradiented circle in the middle is what i made, but for some reason i have this white stripe down the left side too. I have no idea what that is or why it's there. It appears on both he green and blue channels when i paste in a mask. But if you look at the channel image in the right hand panel, it doesn't seem to have a stripe down it.

the stripe is definitely there, it's affecting the main image, and its annoying me.

any thoughts what might be causing that?
